MUDRA – Fish Mudra – Sit comfortably, relaxing shoulders. Place hands in front of you fingers together palms facing the floor and the thumb stretched out to the side, adjacent. Place the right hand over the left hand forming a fish. Hold hand here for a few minutes. Benefits overall relaxation and health, especially beneficial for joint problems.
ABBAYA MUDRA – is introduced by Christy Turlington in her
book Living Yoga. Sit comfortably, bend right elbow to raise right hand, palm facing forward, fingers together thumb next to first finger and fingers pointing up.
MUDRA Variations – (Abhaya Mudra) Resting left hand in your lap, Bend right elbow bringing hand palm facing forward at shoulder height.
MUDRA – Rest hands on knees cupped in a receiving gesture.
Mudra/Mantra Combination – Sa Ta Na Ma is a catalyst for change.
Begin by touching thumb to first finger say Sa
Touch thumb to middle finger say Ta
Touch thumb to ring finger and say Na
Touch thumb to little finger and say Ma
For each sound visualize the sound from the crown of your head down and out the third eye in an L shaped configuration. This may prevent a headache from occurring during your practice.
MUDRA – Prayer Mudra place hands over your head palms together. Slowly brings hands down keeping palms together and rest in front of your heart.
Prithvi Mudra is good for feeling safe – Place tip of ring finger to the tip of the thumb.
MUDRA – (Ahamkara Mudra) – practice for 10 minutes for self-confidence – Bend the index finger slightly placing the thumb on the outside about half-way keeping the other fingers outstretched.

To release worries – grasp you thumb firmly in the opposite hand (aides in digestive issues.)
To release fear – grasp index finger (aides in strengthening muscles, bladder, and kidneys as an added benefit.
To release anger – grasp the middle finger firmly. This also helps with headaches, gallbladder, liver and blood problems.
To ease and release sadness and reduce problems with your lungs and large intestines – grasp the ring finger.
To balance your energies and bring about a feeling of ease – grasp the little finger firmly.
Gyan Mudra – Relaxes the Body and Improves Mental Focus.
Mudra – (Dhyana – mudra) is the meditation gesture done by resting your hands in your lap, right over left with palms facing up and tips of the thumbs touching.
