Goo Roo’s Yogis are really feeling the rewards of regular yoga practice. We are establishing our own daily practice with challenges each week and learning valuable new techniques to take our yoga practice deeper. Incorporating meditation, mantras, mudras, postures and lifestyle tips are woven through the classes to make the sessions a flowing meditative experience. Chakra Meditation In Active Postures
Root Chakra located near the Perineum below the base of our spine along our central channel governs our feelings of safety, security and survival.
Practice: Posture – Yogi Squat, Mantra Sound – LAM
Sacral Chakra located along the center line at the level of the hips governs our self-image, emotions and creativity.
Practice: Posture- Wide-legged Forward Bend, Mantra Sound – VAM
Solar Plexus Chakra located two-inches below the navel along the center line. This is the center of our personal power.
Practice: Posture- Boat Pose, Mantra Sound – RAM (sun salutation)
Heart Chakra located at the heart on the central line and governs our love and relationships.
Practice: Posture- Upward Facing Dog, Mantra Sound – YAM
Throat Chakra located along the center line at the level of our throat involved in our self-expression and speaking up for ourselves.
Practice: Posture- Plow Pose, Mantra Sound – HAM
Third-Eye Chakra located in the center of our forehead just above the brows and is integral to our intuition and wisdom. Continual learning and study of ourselves and the World is important here.
Practice: Posture- Child’s Pose, Mantra Sound OM
Crown Chakra located at the crown of the head and to the universe. This is our connection to Spirit.
